The Earth Star
This little pendant is based on the species Geastrum triplex which is fungus that begins its life as a small round ball and as it ages opens up to create a flower like structure. Once it opens it reveals the inside in which a hole forms in the middle where the spores are released from.
A beautifully strange fungus!
